Got quoted a price that was like rape. Jim the guy on the phone screamed and yelled at me. Had used them numerous times and was overcharged but since its local and they where time efficient I trusted to go back. Now that they quoted me two times the price of what all other shops are quoting me I will not be going back. Also when I had my universal joints replaced there... they lasted three months. They don't know how to put the drive shaft back together properly and it was out of timing. Never again will I refer jimmyz as my mechanic. Especially since he got nasty on the phone with me when I told him all I got is 1000$ to spend to fix it. Good job you lost one customer and many more Jim!!!
I wish that we could have helped Rocky. Rocky had an issue with rotted exhaust manifold studs on his Ford truck. Frankly, it is a job that most repair shops would walk away from. Rockys mom contacted me and indicated she would be assisting with payment, and asked me to proceed. I informed her that the best case scenario would cost at least $1200, but there was a very good chance there were to be additional labor charges for trying to get out the rotted studs. I was very clear on this with her and told her we would do our best to minimize the damage. I also told her that ONLY after we got the job completely torn apart was when I could call her with an actual price for the repair. I also asked her to realize that if we got to that point, she was pretty much committed to us finishing the job. i needed to make sure we were on the same page going into this job. She agreed. The following morning, Rocky called me and indicated that I was "ripping him off" . He indicated he had another repair shop offer to do the repair last year for $900, but he was willing to spend $1000 with me. I told Rocky my price was not negotiable. i also told him $900 was a great price and that he should take advantage of it. I believe he was taken aback at the fact I would not lower my price to suit his needs and i did get agitated as i had a hard time getting Rocky to understand i wasn't going to lower my price. If I lowered my price every time a customer did not want to pay what I was asking, I would have been out of business years ago. Folks, if I am nothing else, I am honest. To a fault at times. You may not always like the news you get when you go to your local repair shop, i understand that. You always have the option of getting a second opinion, and if you are not 100% happy with what a repair shop tells you, then by all means get one. As for Rocky, we didn't charge him to look at his truck and he picked it up. I hope he was able to find someone to better suit his needs.
